Visual storytelling is a valuable communication tool, especially in public and community-facing roles. It allows teams to share complex ideas clearly, build trust, and connect with people in more accessible ways.

The benefits of visual storytelling include improved memory retention, increased engagement, and the ability to communicate across language or literacy barriers. It’s also a more emotionally resonant way to share lived experience, public service design, or social impact.

In my work with local authorities and charities, I use illustration to help bring forward unheard voices, document lived experiences and visually map out change. Whether it’s supporting a co-production process or translating service outcomes into something tangible, visual storytelling allows audiences to see themselves in the work.

It’s not just for reports or presentations—visuals can be used in digital communications, public displays, or as creative evaluation tools.
